Ahmedabad: Le Manchester d'Inde / Ahmedabad; Indian Manchester
2 days in Ahmedabad (pause on our journey to Rajasthan). At the heart of Gujarat, Ahmedabad is a Muslim city with loads of Mosques and without too many tourists. The city is divided between the old part - bordered by gates and including bazaars (markets) - and the new city, full of new building and development projects. We had the chance to visit the kites museum and the headquarters of Gandhi (i.e. Ashram; community for the poorest and the untouchables).

Val and bashe around Ahmedabad in an autorickshaw (local scooter taxi).
First time in an indian bus; not quite the 1st class but still ok - especially sleeper class as it's some kind of bed above the seats.
Indian traffic.. crazy!
Ancienne ville bordee de 'gates'; notez la poussiere au flash...one of the gates from the old city; please note the dust :)
Les berges de la riviere Sabarmati; d'un cote leur projet d'amenagement a grands coups de dollars et de l'autre un slum tres clean. The Sabarmati river banks; one side they're building amazing and expensive houses and the other one is another slum.
Petit detour par le Lac Kankaria... refuge a la pollution et aux bruits a 10 roupies l'entree.Quiet time in the Kankaria Lake... away from pollution and noise for only 10 rupees.
